Our class is built for people with limited experience, and working with new gun owners is our specialty. We explain the reasoning behind everything you are asked to do, questions are welcome at any point, and class sizes stay small so you get a personal experience in a comfortable and relaxed classroom. You will never shoot at the range without an instructor right there with you.

Balance of $78 plus the $12 range fee is due on the day of class, cash or credit. Your deposit reserves your seat.
What the day looks like
Training begins promptly at 9:00 AM in our Livonia classroom. The morning starts with a short introduction, then firearms safety and defensive use instruction covering safe gun handling, grip, stance, trigger control, sight alignment and the mistakes most new shooters make.
Before going to live fire, you train on our in class virtual range. That guided session lets you practice the fundamentals without recoil or noise, so you build confidence and your instructor can correct mistakes in real time. The class then travels to The Firing Line to complete the live fire qualification by shooting 50 rounds, followed by a lunch break.
The afternoon covers defensive mindset and personal safety, how to avoid legal trouble after a self-defense incident, Michigan CPL law and pistol free zones, police encounters while carrying, and step by step instructions for your CPL application. By the end of the day you receive your Certificate of Completion and know exactly how to apply.
Common questions
Do I need any experience?
No. Beginners are welcome and many students are shooting for the first time. You go at your own pace with an instructor beside you.
Do I need my own gun?
No. Bring your pistol and ammunition if you have them. If you do not, rental and ammunition are available on class day for about $30.
Is this class recognized by the State of Michigan?
Yes. This is the US Concealed Carry Association Concealed Carry and Home Defense Fundamentals course, which the State of Michigan recognizes for the CPL. It runs about 8 hours including roughly 3 hours of range time.
What happens after class?
You leave with your certificate the same day. Take it to your county clerk with the $115 application fee, submit your fingerprints, and your license arrives in the mail.
