Three steps to your CPL

Book online
Pick a class below and reserve your spot. It takes a couple of minutes, and you can pay your deposit online.

Take the class
One day in our Livonia classroom with a certified instructor, including virtual range practice and live fire. You leave with your certificate the same day.

Apply at your county clerk
Take your certificate to the county clerk, submit your application and fingerprints, and your license comes in the mail.

Karl Kessler
Owner and USCCA Certified Instructor
Karl is a USCCA certified instructor with a passion for firearms and teaching. He uses a teaching style that keeps students engaged from start to finish, and he explains the reasoning behind everything you are asked to do rather than reading slides at you.
Class sizes are kept small so you get a more personal experience in a comfortable and relaxed setting, and you will never shoot at the range without an instructor next to you.

Virtual range before live fire
You practice grip, stance and trigger control on our in class virtual range first. It builds confidence before live fire, and your instructor can correct mistakes in real time without recoil or noise.

Small classes, one on one coaching
Class sizes are kept small so you get attention instead of a seat in the back. At the range you will never shoot without an instructor right there with you.

Certified the same day
You leave with the certificate you need to apply for your Michigan CPL that day. No waiting and no second visit.

Common questions
Questions students ask
Is this class state approved?
Yes. This is the US Concealed Carry Association Concealed Carry and Home Defense Fundamentals course, recognized by the State of Michigan for the CPL. Your certificate is valid for your application at the county clerk.
Do I need my own gun?
No. Bring your pistol and ammunition if you have them. If you do not, rental and ammunition are available on class day for about $30.
Do I need any experience?
No. Beginners are welcome, and working with new gun owners is what this class is built around. You go at your own pace with an instructor beside you.
What should I bring?
A valid state ID, a pen, closed-toe shoes, and a snack. Coffee, tea and water are available in the classroom, and you get breaks including time for lunch.
How long is the class?
It is one day, about 8 hours, starting at 9:00 AM. That includes classroom time, the virtual range, and roughly 3 hours for the live fire portion.
When do I get my certificate?
At the end of the same day, along with step by step instructions for applying at your county clerk.
